![]() ![]() There are several moments on this record that never fail to make me choke up, most notably, the title track "Wish You Were Here". Another repeating theme we see brought up in the album is the evil nature of the music industry, and the effect it can have on an artist's psyche, another topic which likely relates to Syd Barrett. It's heartbreaking in that sense, as we hear the band lament and think of past times with Syd, reflecting on his time with the band and what could have been. It's definitely their most emotionally moving, as the entire concept of the record revolves around the slow decline of the mental state of their former bandmate, Syd Barrett. Conceptually, lyrically, instrumentally, and yes, production-wise, this is the best Pink Floyd album. And finally, coming in at the number 1 spot, the album that I consider to be the greatest Pink Floyd record ever made is.
